An Antique Victorian Picture Button hangs from a faceted pyrite chain. The setting of sterling silver is of 2 leaves that frame the scene from the French Opera. A sliver of a moon is seen on the right side of the two main characters where one is of a clown on his knees and the other a dancer. Pierrot and Pierrette are characters from popular Italian theatre in the 1500's and became a famous opera and was commemorated as a button that people would wear on their opera cape or other clothes during the Victorian era. This button has a wonderful 3-D quality to it that makes it interesting to look at. The crescent moon surrounding the characters on stage is the iconic scene from the opera.
